Sumner and his longtime bandmate, Josh Robbins, have been performing In The Blood in venues and schools throughout Maine. Sumner is currently recording a full length record of original material, and touring with a new film/live presentation titled The Maine Frontier- Through the Lens of Isaac Simpson.
Sumner has been recording for music libraries that provide music for films, television shows, advertising agencies. He has over 50 songs published in music libraries around the world.
The Sumner McKane Group's most recent tour featured a performance of their live score for the 1920s silent film, Nanook Of The North. The group also performed sections from their score for a feature on National Public Radio's nightly ambient music program, Echoes.
Sumner has scored and created sound design for the Berlin based artist and filmmaker Lucas Zanato- projects include an advertisement for OOMY.com, and Berlin based HDS-UNIONE. Sumner is also currently working on a new film titled Running Rum in the Northeast.
